Self-care & Wellness Reminders

Self-care should accompany your therapy sessions. When you practice self-care you are intentionally prioritizing your mental health.   As a therapist that utilizes empowerment tools with every client,  I am very passionate about sharing tools during each therapy session which will help my clients practice self-compassion, maintain balance and create  productive mindset.

REMINDERS AS YOU EMBODY  MENTAL WELLNESS

I encourage all my clients to Embody their Mental Wellness Journey.  Embodying Your Mental Wellness involves intentionally prioritizing  your mind, body and soul.  At this practice, we  focus on 10 main Therapuetic Approaches throughout therapy as you prioritize your mental wellness.

1. COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)-

Therapist assist clients in creating and maintaining a positive mindset throughout treatment  by using cognitive behavioral tools to change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors and replacing them with more realistic and balanced ones.  When used consistently CBT tools can reduce depression, anxiety and other mental health problems.

2. Practice Self-Compassion-

Therapist introduce clients to Self-Compassion Therapy, which is a wellness approach that encouraages each and every one of us to treat ourselves with the same kindness that we would extend to others. When we choose to be less critical of ourselves that is an act of self-compassion.

3. Cultivating Gratitude-

We can cultivate gratitude each day by identifying at least 3 things we are grateful for. Research has found that gratitude fosters happiness and reduces negative thought patterns and emotions. Gratitude strenghtens our immune system and activates the amygdala, the part of the brain that regulates our emotion.

4. Prioritize Holistic Living-

Therapist empowers clients to nurture their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.  Meditation, Art therapy, Yoga,  and Massage are some examples of holistic practices.  Therapist assist clients in meeting their overall  health goals in treatment.  At this practice there is an emphasis on supporting the WHOLE PERSON. We believe it is inadequate to only support clients' mental health concerns.

5. Practicing Mindfulness-

We are practicing mindfulness when we choose to stay in the present moment during challening times.  Mindful breathing, mindful listening and body scanning are examples of mindfulness tools that are practiced during the therapy sessions.

6. Intentionality and Wellness-

Therapists encourage clients to adopt consistent intentional lifestyle. Intentionality is purposeful or delibrate action towards specfic goals which subsequently shape our lives and relationships in more fulfilling ways.

7. Problem Solving Therapy-

Therapist focus on helping clients with coping skills as challenges arises and finding solutions to those challenges. We are utilizing problem solving tools when we make lists, practice visualization and when we break complex problems down into small ones.

8. Building  Resilence-

Therapist aim at assisting clients in bouncing back from challenges.  When we consistently adapt to changes and view challenges as an opportunity for growth we are building a strong foundation for resilence.

9. Embody The Power of Authencity-

Authencity involves being true to oneself, standing up for what you believe in  and staying in alignment with your core-values. At this practice you will be helped with understanding what motivates you and improving self-awareness. â€‹â€‹

10. Inner Child Work-

Therapist help clients heal from their childhood trauma.  Childhood trauma leaves lasting  impact on  our emotional wellbeing as adults. Want to learn more about what trigger your inner child parts?   There are several tools we can use in healing our childhood wounds such as; intentionally reparenting ourselves by listening to what our inner child has to say, offering love and support to our "littles"  and writing a letter to our younger self.  Inner Child Work could be the catalyst for the mental freedom and healthier relationship you have been striving for. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
